Friday in Winchester, Va,

I am currently in Winchester, Va.  This first weekend of December is an ideal time to be here since there are a lot of events going on. Here is a small sample.

Abram's Delight, the oldest house in Winchester dating from the 1740's is open for the Candlelight Tour  Friday 6-8 p.m and Saturday 3-7 p.m.  George Washington's Office and Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters are also open on the same schedule.

On Sunday December 7, five historic homes in Winchester will be open for Historic Winchester's 38th Annual Holiday House Tour. The Potato Hill Promenade will take place between 1-5 p.m.
Need to do some Christmas shopping? Winchester is the perfect place. The Museum of the Shenandoah has a lovely gift shop with a wide selection of locally made items. Or if you are headed toward Middletown, Va. Belle Grove will be opening for the Christmas Season next weekend but the store is open even when the house is closed. They also have a great selection of local products to offer.

For more information on these and other events checkout the Winchester-Frederick County Convention and Visitor Bureau website.
