Hazards of Winter Press Trips

One of the hazards of winter press trips is the weather. You would think that after last year I would have learned my lesson but you would be wrong. There is just something so appealing about travel when there are Christmas decorations to see and enjoy.

As I have written about previously, we spent a long weekend in Winchester, Va. enjoying some of their holiday events. On leaving there yesterday we learned about the Nor'easter that is set to descend on the east coast.

It is a four hour drive from Winchester to our cottage in Mount Cobb, Pa. From there it is another three hours home to Portland. we didn't feel up to the seven hour drive so we are here in Pennsylvania. We may just be here for several days as the rain, snow and ice coats the roads between us and home.

We are snug and have plenty of food, good cable TV and Internet access but I have cookies to bake, a Christmas tree to put up and gifts for the Giving Tree to buy and wrap. What would the holidays be with added stress and pressure.  Merry Christmas to all!!
