54th Annual International Carillon Festival, June 3-7, www.visitspringfieldillinois.com/event-details/5478. If an inspiring evening under the stars listening to the bells of one of the world’s largest carillons is up your alley, bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets to the 54th Annual International Carillon Festival. This free event is fun for the family and Friday night’s performance is followed by a fireworks display.

This two day music festival features five stages and over 60 regional and local bands, all set against the backdrop of historic downtown Springfield. A SOHO 10K and SOHO PDGA sanctioned tournament accompany the music festival. All proceeds go to area charities.
