King Richard's Faire Carver Massachusetts

It's that time of year again when the Renaissance comes to eastern Massachusetts. From September 5 to October 25, Kings Richard's Faire opens every weekend (and Columbus Day Monday) from 10:30 a.m to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are available on their website and also at the door. Entrance is $29 for adults and $16 for children from 4 to 11. At the gate only cash is accepted and there is a $2 fee to use a credit card online. This can make for quite an expense outing since many things inside also have a fee attached such as axe or knife throwing, going into the maze and riding any "medieval rides".
Stages are set up throughout the grounds and you are given a map and schedule of the shows when you enter the grounds. We sat down to watch "Jacques Ze Whippeur" which was quite amusing if a bit risque in content. If you want to watch jousting, it occurs several times throughout the day.
Period buildings line the perimeter and you can buy many different costumes, weapons, jewelry, pottery and much more. Food is sold by ticket so it is a good idea to decide what you want to eat ahead of time so that you don't end up with a bunch of unused tickets.

Many people come in costume. It is entertaining just to sit and watch everyone walking by. It was crowded as this is obviously a very popular event and we saw everything from seniors in wheelchairs to infants in carriages.

They sell roasted turkey legs as well as ye old fried dough and cheezy fries, I enjoyed a rootbeer float.
If you are looking for a fun way to spend a day or even a weekend, carver is very near Plymouth, I highly recommend the King Richard's Faire.
