Sheraton Albuquerque Airport Hotel

If you are looking for a hotel near the airport, in Albuquerque it is hard to find one better located than the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport Hotel. It is just 200 yards from the terminal. Really it is so close that you could walk your luggage over, almost. Even though it is as close as can be to the airport as you can possibly get, I never was disturbed by the sound of the airplanes landing or taking off. The hotel has a van that will take you to or pick you up from the airport.

It's hard not to like this hotel; the lobby is beautiful, bright and welcoming. A very nice store has just about anything you could want. The business center is out in the open in the lobby and has plenty of computers. Off to the left are the bar and the restaurant. Even though I didn't have occasion to use them, they were attractive. Plenty of gathering space is available in the lobby as well, and two tables with giant board games on them, checkers on one and chess on the other.

The rooms are spacious and have the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed. It is a very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. I am a big fan of their all white bedding and down comforter, very clean and smart looking. I liked the fact that the lamp next to the bed has electric plugs built in so that I could use my computer on the bed and recharge my smartphone while I slept.

The room has a desk as well with an ergonomic chair which makes working comfortable. Electric plugs are plentiful there as well. The wall unit has a large flat screen TV with a nice variety of shows and there is a coffee maker with coffee and tea selections.

For watching TV or reading, there is an upholstered chair in the corner of the room with an ottoman and a work table.

The granite topped vanity is outside the bathroom. It had a large mirror and also a makeup mirror. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and they provide plenty of towels.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool. It was too cool in October to use the pool. It was however, right below my room. The hotel also has a fitness center.

This hotel would be pretty close to perfect if they could just get themselves together. On a positive note, I arrived early, at about 1 p.m. and was able to get into my room. On the downside, I was awakened by a fire alarm at 3 a.m. and there was no fire. Additionally, not one of my wake-up calls was ever delivered on time and one morning it didn't come at all. Another morning, they were delivered by a knock on the door which freaked some people out and I found a bit disturbing.

This is a very attractive hotel. It has recently undergone renovation and the look is clean and modern. Bring your own alarm clock and you should have a great visit.
