Every summer for more than 40 years, the city of Quebec has come alive with the sounds of music. For 2020 the dates were July 9-19. It will be 11 days at 10 different venues around the city. On an average year, over 1 million people will attend the festivities.
Over the years many famous entertainers have come to the Summer Festival including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and The Black Eyed Peas. Check out the Festival website for the entertainers who will be coming this year.
In addition to the major performances, there are impromptu performances all over the city. It may be on the Terrace Dufferin or Place Youville. Just walking around the city you will come upon buskers performing. The whole city has a party atmosphere.
Given the fact that so many people attend the festival, it is wise to have reservations and to get them as early as possible. Only 150,000 tickets are issued, they cost $115 Canadian in 2019 and are for all the performances.
While I have never attended any of the performances, I have visited the city during this time and the photo shows a performance we stopped to watch. For more information visit the festival website.
