Massachusetts: The Bridge of Flowers Shelburne Falls

The Bridge of Flowers is located in Shelburne Falls, Mass. and connects that town with Buckland.  This former trolley bridge was built in 1908 and by the late 1920s was obsolete. It was too expensive to tear down so some local residents came up with the idea of making it a beautiful bridge of flowers. In the spring of 1929 that is exactly what happened.

We visited here a few years ago and I want to share with you some of the amazing photos I took that day.

It is free to view the bridge and to walk across. It changes with the seasons so if you happen to live within an easy drive, visiting it often is something to consider.

We have stayed at some interesting places in the area that you might want to consider including the Hotel on North in Pittsfield.
